We stopped in Dorchester on the way to Devon and Cornwall. We decided at the last minute to split our journey to Okehampton and stopped at Dorchester.
The Wessex Royal was a nice hotel. The service and breakfast was great. The room was on a slope though and up lots of stairs. It was a bit noisy overnight as we were overlooking the main road.
Sadly not enough parking so we had to pay to park on the street. We went to an Italian restaurant for tea. It was pretty average. And they had run out of pizza. I went for a little run in the morning around a small local park.
Dorchester sounds like it should be a nice place. But it is a bit dull. Don’t bother.
