Yeo Valley

In early 2011 I did a speaking tour (well 6 speaking gigs) across England. One of the highlights was Yeo Valley. A great view and free yogurt.

Why should we worry?

My presentation from the British Geriatric Society conference in Belfast in April 2013 which explores the challenges and opportunities of an ageing society.

Sourdough Bread

I've given up doing sourdough bread for a while. It takes a bit too long and I've recently discovered they sell live yeast in the local polish shop.

But it is pretty easy (despite taking a while). You should give it a go.

You start with a sourdough starter (this takes about a week to get going).

And then throw it in the oven (after a while and a second proof)..

Look what happens

Can you turn the balls into a triangle?

We went to Brussels in November 2010. We popped into a science(y) thingy.

Can you turn these balls into a triangle?

I couldn't.

But Grandad Michael could.

Fresh Pasta

Fresh/home made pasta is worth the effort.

Although possibly not worth the cost of the pasta machine.

Go On

I know I've posted the pic before (only on facebook) but I love this picture of Nigel Ashcroft and I at the top of Centrepoint in December 2010.

And here is a picture from the top of the building.

Just going through some photos and found a couple from the Therapy? gig from November 2010 at the Forum. They played their Troublegum album in full (setlist here).

The charity I Chair (Openage) has a lovely purpose built venue called New Horizons. Just found a nice picture.

Blackpool Half Marathon

Yesterday I ran the Blackpool Half Marathon. Despite being injured a week ago I managed to finish. Surprisingly there was no wind on the seafront. The race was pretty well organised and I would do it again.
